London 2012

Hello!
As a design person I've been keeping up to date with everything happening design wise with the 2012 Olympics.
But when it comes down to it, do you think the 2012 Olympics will be worth the money or just a total embarrassment for the UK?
I think it will do us well, but someone somewhere will make us look a fool!

Personally, I think the logo looks like Lisa Simpson performing a certain sexual act on someone.

Most definitely. It's not worth the money they paid for it - it cost quite a few bob.

I know the boy who designed the 50p that'll be coming out during the Olympics
I've even touched it! I think it's top secret... So, I won't tell you what it is
! Personally, I don't think we're ready for it yet; not only on the money front but well over half the people I've spoken to about the Olympics couldn't give a crap about it. So, I think they should've spent money getting folks to actually take more interest in it by pumping money into communities to create more opportunities for people to participate in some of the sports then host the Olympics, but there we go, that's just my opinion! :}

Is that not the purpose of the Olympics though? To provide the government an incentive to invest in sporting facilities?

I think the olympics is a waste of time, people in England would prefer the UK to have the World Cup, I think they care more about that than the Olympics

I don't theink its a waste of money. Its forcing the government to invest in new facilities in London. The Tube is getting renovated etc. during 2012, the games should hopefully pay itself back with the increased tourism, and spending in shops and for services.
Dosen't really benefit non-Londoners, but all the same..
